SOYAL Participates in Global Youth Climate Action at COP30 Belem

Overview
The SOYAL team proudly participated in global youth-led initiatives addressing climate
change and environmental protection during COP30 in Belem. This engagement marked an
important milestone in SOYAL’s efforts to amplify the voices of Somali youth and contribute
to global climate action.
The event provided an opportunity for youth representatives to engage with international
stakeholders, share experiences, and explore strategies for climate adaptation and
environmental sustainability led by young people.
Objectives
 Amplify the voices and perspectives of Somali youth on global climate platforms
 Engage with international partners and stakeholders on climate adaptation initiatives
 Strengthen youth leadership in climate action and environmental sustainability
Key Highlights
Through its participation, SOYAL contributed to discussions focused on youth leadership in
climate adaptation and the importance of including young people in global environmental
decision making.
The platform enabled the SOYAL team to showcase ongoing initiatives supporting youth
engagement in climate action while also learning from innovative approaches led by youth
organizations from different parts of the world.
SOYAL also expressed appreciation to the Global Center on Adaptation for providing the
opportunity to participate and highlight the contributions of Somali youth in global climate
conversations.
